City Council Hearing, Monday, December 7: Oversight – Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) Implementation in NYC

The City Council is conducting a hearing on Monday, December 7, 11:30am, about the readiness of the Board of Elections and Campaign Finance Board’s in educating voters on Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) and conducting the 2021 special and primary elections using RCV.

The council will also discuss two laws relating to RCV:

1. Int 1994-2020 – A Local Law in relation to a voter education campaign
   regarding ranked choice voting (see full bill below)
   
2. T2020-6914 – A Local Law to amend the New York city charter, in relation to the reporting of unofficial election night results for ranked choice elections

It is critical that the voice of New Yorkers be heard in this hearing whether you are for or against RCV; whether you believe RCV should be delayed or there is enough time to roll out a robust, comprehensive, RCV voter education campaign.
